  B. Pharmacy 1 year I Semester  Human Anatomy & Physiology (HAP) Notes  as per PCI Syllabus.

As the Human Anatomy & physiology deals with the study of body structure, its parts, & components of the human body. The theory paper is of 75 marks + 25 marks internal = 100 marks. As per the PCI criteria for passing is 50% of the total marks including theory paper & internal marks.
The practical exam consist of  same criteria as per the theory paper  75/25 pattern. the final practical duration is 3 hrs.

The practical may be consist of 
  1. Major Experiment.
  2. Minor Experiment. 
  3. Synopsis. 
  4. Spotting.  (To identify the appratus or organ modules & write 3- 5 points for each spotting)
  5. Viva-voce. (Held by the external examiner conduct as oral)

Human Anatomy & Physiology- I
Unit - I 
  • Chapter - I: Introduction to the human body.
Definition & scope of anatomy & physiology, levels of structural organization & body system,

basic life processes, hemostasis, basic anatomical terminology

  • Chapter - II:  Cellular level of organization.
Structure & functions of cell, transport across cell membrane, cell division, cell junctions, General principals of cell communication, intracellular signaling pathway activation by extra cellular signal molecule.
  • Chapter III: Tissue level of organization.
Classifications of tissues, structure location & functions epithelial, muscular, nervous & connective tissues.
